Lactation/Feeding

reach your feeding goals

As a Registered Nurse, I am not here to tell you how to feed your baby.  I am here to support you. First, I will perform a thorough assessment. Then, I will provide education and support to help you overcome challenges and achieve your feeding goals.

Often, lactation services are covered by insurance. Plans that are accepted are: most Blue Cross PPO, Blue Shield PPO, Anthem PPO, Cigna PPO plans, all PNOA plans, VA CCN. Note that PNOA will often appear alongside other payers on the medical insurance card like Aetna or UHC. If the card includes the PNOA logo at all I can take them.  please use the button below to input your insurance information. We will receive confirmation within 90 minutes of your insurance coverage or rejection. I will then reach out to you to schedule your appointment. If you do not have one of these insurances, please see the below FAQ and book through the self-pay buttons.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good question!  We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when Carrie’s first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud to herself, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”.  Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realized there was a need for qualified support for new families. We recognize that our name can give the impression that we only serve moms, but we will continue to work and learn to ensure our messaging is clear that all people are welcome here. Parents carry a heavy load, and do it with grace.  All parents deserve support, and The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.

We do not just support moms — we help ALL people.  All are welcome here, and we are committed to providing you with quality support, no matter your gender or family dynamic.  As we learned in nursing school, your family is who YOU say they are.

YES! As a member of The Lactation Network, I am able to accept and directly bill several large insurance companies such as: Blue Cross Blue Shield, United Healthcare, Anthem, Sigma, VA CCN & The Provider Network (PNOA).

If you are not a member of the above listed insurances, my services may still be covered by out-of-network benefits. After our visit I can provide you with a superbill, including the necessary coding, to submit to your respective insurance for reimbursement.

You can call and speak to your insurance administrator if you have any questions regarding lactation coverage.

Our services can also be covered through HSA or FSAs as well.  Reach out to me for more information.
