Aloha! I am originally from the beautiful state of Hawaii and now reside in another beautiful state, California.

I have been a maternal/newborn nurse for over 8 years and am very passionate about women and children’s health. I am an International Board-Certified Lactation Consultant and still breastfeeding my almost 2 year old.  I am right there with you mamas!

I have 4 boys ranging in age from 19 years old to almost 2 years old. I didn’t have the education, support, and resources that are available today when I had my older children.  This is what sparked my passion to bridge the gap in lactation support for mothers and families.

Many things have changed over the years in regard to the medical field, including newborn care and lactation, and I am excited to help your family navigate parenthood through evidence-based education and resources. I will assist you to achieve your family goals, whatever you decide, I am here for you.

In Partnership with Dr. Lynn Gerner at The Good life chiropractic.

Dr. Gerner is the founder of The Good Life Learning, LLC and teaches post-graduate education courses on Advanced Cranial work for brastfeeding infants and Chiropractic Prenatal care. She is a current Post-Graduate faculty member of Life Chiropractic College West and an instructor with the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association.

Dr. Gerner earned her Fellowship in Pediatrics through the International Chiropractic Association (ICPA) in 2004 and specialized in pre/post-natal maternity care and pediatrics; including advanced cranial adjusting techniques. This special work is incredibly effective to improve and support such issues as breastfeeding challenges, lip and/or tongue tie, ear infections, colic, sleeplessness, neuro-processing challenges, etc.

Dr. Gerner is certified in the Webster Technique. This technique is a specific Chiropractic analysis and adjustment which decreases the structural and ligamental restrictions of the pelvis; effectively giving the baby more room to move as he/she does naturally. Sacral and pelvic subluxation often contributes to difficult labor (dystocia) for mom. Releasing pelvic subluxation restores neuro-biomechanical function, and allows for increased space for the baby, a more comfortable labor for mom, and much safer birth for the baby.

Frequently Asked Questions

Good question!  We are called The Mama Coach because years ago, when Carrie’s first boy was very small, she often wondered out loud to herself, “Where is my Mama Coach?” and “I need a Mama Coach!”.  Carrie searched and searched for qualified support and realized there was a need for qualified support for new families. We recognize that our name can give the impression that we only serve moms, but we will continue to work and learn to ensure our messaging is clear that all people are welcome here. Parents carry a heavy load, and do it with grace.  All parents deserve support, and The Mama Coach is the answer you’ve been searching for.

We do not just support moms — we help ALL people.  All are welcome here, and we are committed to providing you with quality support, no matter your gender or family dynamic.  As we learned in nursing school, your family is who YOU say they are.

Yes.  As Registered Nurses, we have years of training on where to access credible guidelines and information. All of our programming is based on extensive research from credible sources.

As Registered Nurses, it is our professional obligation to manage client records and confidential information properly.  We use an Electronic Medical Record (EMR) that is compliant throughout North America.  Even though we share the same brand, we are all independent Registered Nurses with our own private practices. As such, we each have our own EMR that is private and secure. We do not share EMR or client information between one another without consent.

Often they are — the answer largely depends on where you live and what your private insurance covers.  For example, in Canada, our services are covered under ‘Lactation’, ‘Registered Nurse Services’ or ‘Health Spending Accounts’.  In the United States our services can be covered as well, through HSA or FSAs.  Reach out to me for more information.
